We have methods and can administer medications to ensure your experience is a comfortable and relaxed one.

Impacted Canines

Impacted canines are the most common type of impacted teeth. Many patients we treat have issues with impacted canines. We have the technology, such as a 3-D scanner to determine the exact location of the impacted tooth, to diagnose impacted canines rapidly and decide on the proper course of action.

The second most tooth to become impacted is the maxillary cuspid tooth. The maxillary cuspid is the upper eye tooth. That is the tooth just to the side of your front four teeth. Impacted maxillary cuspid (impacted canines) are very important to your jaw bite. They are very powerful biting teeth. In actual fact, they have the most powerful tooth roots and they are very important for guiding the rest of your teeth when you bite.

The maxillary cuspid teeth are normally the last teeth to erupt around 13 years of age. However, if the cuspid teeth or canines don’t have space to erupt, they often become impacted teeth. In most cases, every effort is made to aid the cuspid to come into place if it looks like it will become impacted. This is normally noticed by a dentist during routine dental visits.

Impacted Wisdom Teeth

Impacted wisdom teeth are the most common form of impacted tooth. wisdom teeth don’t really have any function and therefore can be removed. It is common to remove wisdom teeth even before they become impacted wisdom teeth.

Techniques can be applied to assist both the upper and lower to erupt successfully before the need for oral surgery, except in the case of impacted wisdom teeth removal as they do serve any real function.
