What is Orthognathic/Jaw surgery?

It is a procedure that is performed to correct deformities of the jaw, face and its associated malocclusion.  A wide variety of procedures are utilized to move jaw bones, teeth and the surrounding soft tissues in more optimal position.

Who Needs Orthognathic Surgery?

  • The majority of these surgeries take place in a hospital setting with an overnight stay.  Dr. Arango has privileges at Medical City Dallas, Medical City Plano, Presbyterian Dallas, Baylor Dallas Hospital and Methodist Dallas Hospital.
  • Dr. Arango is an in network physician with most medical insurance companies. Dr. Arango will work with all insurance providers except Medicare/Medicaid.  Dr. Arango and is staff will work diligently to assure the surgery is covered by your medical insurance company.
